Homemaker Day

I feel like I am slowing getting back into a daily/weekly rhythm again. I am always amazed that it takes this long after moving to really feel like I am settled.

Anyway, we took our weekly hike to get weighed (have I mentioned that our doctor's office is kiddy-corner behind us?) and Timothy came in at 14 pounds, 1.5 ounces! I am so proud of him! He is doing really well and with the benefit of some hy-tape (special, gentle tape for babies) that helps keep his tube from pulling on his tummy at night, he is no longer waking up in a puddle of formula that leaked out of his button hole. Now, if we can just stay sleeping all night, mommy and daddy will be really happy. It seems that our good sleeper...8-9 hours without-waking-up-baby is now stirring 2 or 3 times and needing some cuddling to settle back down. Not that I mind the cuddling, it is just not the thing I would like to be doing at 3 am. Oh well, hopefully this is just a phase and we will all be sleeping for long stints again soon. On a happy note, he is doing really well sitting up and is able to spend a few minutes at a time without falling over!

Besides getting weighed and running errands, I was also able to crank out 4 more loaves of bread and put 6 cups of shredded zucchini into the freezer for breads/muffins this winter. I was planning on using applesauce with this batch, but I found out that I didn't have any applesauce...not sure what happened to it to be honest, but that's ok. There are more zucchini still growing and our plants just burst out into another batch of blooms. :) I know what everyone is getting for Christmas from Jared and Sarah....

To top that off I also got a stacking toy for Timothy finished! I started it when we were still on vicarage, but with the move, teaching, and Timothy, I haven't had time to pull it out. It is a free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn that was a lot of fun to do...I did alter the colors and the dragonfly wings a little. I love it because it is washable too. :) I am also reupholstering our dining room chairs. We got a table and chairs from an older lady downsizing from her house into an apartment and they are in great shape, but the flowers aren't exactly us...

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE the stacking rings! I just did a little caterpillar toy from a lion pattern! Yours are super cute!
And yay for growing Timothy!! I think all kids go through stages of sleeping, and seem to wake more often when they are in the process of learning something new. So maybe this temporary lack of sleep will lead to something more exciting during the day!

  2. I think you are right...he has been sitting on his own longer everyday and is really starting to play with toys. :) I have been eyeing that caterpillar toy to do too...
