Happy Halloween!

Look out for the shark!  :)

He really didn't enjoy the head....

Yay, the hat is off!

Earlier today, Timothy helped daddy carve the pumpkin...

Whatever Timothy does, kitty now does too.  I was encouraging Timothy to smell the pumpkin, in hopes of him actually touching it (which he did a little later), and so kitty did the same.  Keep your eyes peeled for future posts on kitty's adventures...

And then he got a little silly and felt the need to lick the pumpkin...

I don't know what else to say...

Right or Left?

What do you think this little boy will be: left-handed or right-handed?  By the way, this is the face I get when I asked for a smile.  I don't get the big toothy grins as often as I used to.  And he just woke up from a nap, so the bed head will be apparent in the following pictures...

Right?

Left?

Right?

Left?

Who knows!

Tedious

but worth the effort!

I finished the first Ribbon Star (found here) for our bed quilt tonight and am really looking forward to getting the other two behind me as well.  Lots of little pieces and corners getting sucked down in my machine, but it really looks stunning, even if one of my corners still needs to be redone...

I also whipped through my next 2 Star of Virginia blocks (here).  I think that the block above took me twice the time as all three blocks below.  :)

Speaking of tedious, Timothy is learning the art of getting stickers off of his fingers and on the page.  :)

The Best Concert I Ever Heard

Sunday afternoon, after church and before nap
Soloist accompanied by guitar
A collection of untitled pieces, composed by the performer

BRAVO! :)

Star Update

The plan was to make 3 of each star for 14 weeks and be done by mid-October.  I am currently approaching the halfway point at mid-October, so the plan wasn't followed, but I am really happy with how it is going so far.  I was also going to document them as I went, and that didn't happen either.  Oh well.  :)  I am finding that the cutting of the pieces is really time consuming, especially deciding on the color combinations.  These stars are going to eventually be a queen-sized star sampler for our bed.
So exciting!!!

Tutorials for these stars are at Fresh Lemons Modern Quilts and I am using the 5 Solstice Stars Series stars and the stars from her Summer Sampler Series, as well as a couple from another site that I will share when I get to them.

15 out of 42 completed:

Whirling Star (paper pieced)

Ribbon Star

Another Star

Star of Mystery (paper pieced)

Two Colored Star - 3rd one is cut out and my triangle squares are pieced, but I LOST a piece!  Hoping it will show up this week, or else I'll just cut another little piece and finish it up.

Star of Virginia - I just put this one together tonight and the other 2 are cut and ready to go.  I also got 3 Bordered Stars cut tonight too, so hopefully sooner than later I can get those posted.  That will put me at 21 stars and halfway!

Gravestone

Evelyn's marker was installed earlier this week.  Come quickly Jesus, so our family can be reunited...
